Little Forgotten Friends

*Hello and welcome to Little Forgotten Friends Rescue and Hospice. My name is Maria LaRocca and I am the founder of this rescue and all that goes along with it. While reading this website, I will take you through all this rescues experiences both good and bad! You will meet the volunteers, our vets, our miracles, our losses and our adorable doggies. For all who know me it will not come as a surprise that I "hold NOTHING back".....I say whats on my mind and my words are the truth, not all will like my wording but my website speaks the reality of all that happens here, BAR NONE!....The focus of this rescue is to rehabilitate sick, old and injured dogs, then to place them in the best most suitable homes where they can finish out their lives with people who will love them till the end of their days, the unadoptable will be welcomed to finish out their lives here with dignity and love. Our dogs, are ALL VETTED to the best of our ability, the groomer is here EVERY WEEK, our dogs are NOT CAGED but are free to roam throughout their home here with me, they eat the BEST food available, they sleep on cushy beds and heated blankets, they are given the best possible treatment for whatever amount of time they are here. NO dog is put to sleep unless the dog is suffering, all are treated equally and all are loved by myself as well as the many volunteers here, who hug, kiss, play and take them to their homes for slumber parties! You will notice that this website is different then many other rescues, I have made it personalized showing you behind the scenes of the work that is done here, I will introduce you to my friends and family on various link pages, I have done this to make all potential adopters feel comfortable with me and so that you would know that when asking me a question you can believe you will get a truthful answer. When adopting from this rescue you will always have guidance from me from before the adoption and years after your new doggie has come home. We will soon be adding utube videos that will show you video coverage so that you can see for yourselves the work that is done here.....but for now, please enjoy our website and welcome to Little Forgotten Friends!!!

 Family is very important to me, probaly because they are the best part of my life and I know that no matter what any of my family members would be there for me.  We are all animal lovers and lord knows there's not a person who's a part of my life that doesnt have one of my rescue dogs ..........my family are the ones who make the sacrifices of this rescue, it wouldnt be unusual for them to say, What time do you think Maria will show up for dinner, or will Maria actually make showing up for dinner.  It never fails that either a dog is crashing or a dog is in need of help about 5 mintues before I am about to walk out the door to be at a family event, my famly is always having to take a back seat to whatever unkown circumstances occur here, I have stood my mother up for Mothers day for a dog that needed emergency surgery, I have shown up late to my nieces christenings because I wasnt done with adoptions, they are forever putting up with my world of rescue.  There is no way to say thank you to the ones in your life that you love the most that continuously have to "understand" what you do ..many ask me why I would be so willing to share my family photos on my website....the answer is simple...you(the adopters) should know who you are adopting from so, I am happy to let you into my world and my life.

My brother, sister and myself are as close as any siblings could be.  My sister is the one who closely thinks before getting ahead of herself, she is beyond organized(the complete opposite of me...lol) is ALWAYS on time(again, the complete opposite of me) and has never left her house without her hair and makeup being done(DEFINATELY, the complete opposite of me ...lol) My brother is calm , cool and collective, he is the closest thing to Rambo that you will ever have and the proudest American I have ever met.  Altough we are all very different, we are alike in our beliefs of honesty, and saying whatever is on our minds.  We have always been close to one another but, I think with every passing year we appreciate each other more then ever before...I believe my mothers said thats cause we're getting old....lol...ONE FOR MOM!!!
